Moving Trip - Day 3

[left Gila Bend at 0815L - drove on to Yuma, where we filled up the tanks and had breakfast at Jack in the Box (0930L) - continued into California - Nicky almost got run off road by crazy driver in mountains (near Vista or Alpine) - arrived at our home in San Diego at 1215L - went shopping for groceries in the afternoon - our first night in the new home...]

Moving Trip - Day 2

[left motel at 0800 - had breakfast (nearby) at McDonalds - gas fillup for 200SX in Pecos, Texas (1030) - stopped for fuel and lunch (McDonalds) in Van Horne (1200) - next fuel stop (200SX only - gas guzzler) in Lordsburg, New Mexico (1630L) - made it to Benson, Arizona, where we had dinner at Burger King and filled the tanks (1810L) - spent the night at the Pay Less Inn in Gila Bend, Arizona (2145L) - Kiska behaving, but he isn't used to this traveling and having to go while on a leash...]

Moving Trip - Day 1

[leaving Meridian... - two cars FULLY packed (Nicky with Kiska in 200SX, me in Probe - one window nearly blocked...) - departed at 0715L - I-20 to first gas stop in Monroe, Louisiana (1100) - next stop, for lunch at Dairy Queen and gas fillup in Kilgore (Liberty?), Texas (1345L) - making good time, continued to Clyde, Texas - picked up our dinner from a gas station there (1930L) - stopped for the night (Motel 6) in Big Spring (2130L)]

Househunting Trip - Day 10

Checked out of BOQ in the morning and drove over to Kensington to look at our house. Left the Sentra there and then took a taxi to San Diego Airport. Flying on American Airlines (we used the front end of our plane ticket: it was going to cost $600 per person for a one way fare - in the end, we paid half of that to only fly one way on the round-trip tickets). Our first flight was uneventful - very relaxing, actually - and we had no problems during at our layover at DFW (pizza dinner). Landed in New Orleans in the late afternoon, where Nicky's Dad picked us up drove us back to Meridian. Only two more cars left to move, now... Househunting complete!

Househunting Trip - Day 9

[left BOQ at 0900L - drove up to Los Angeles to see cousins - I-5 to I-405 - arrived Van Nuys around (1100L) - (lunch with family) - visited all afternoon - gas a Sepulveda Shell (1835L) - headed back to San Diego - dinner at Denny's - back at BOQ (late)]

Househunting Trip - Day 8

[left BOQ at 0915 - drove to FBS - worked on lease paperwork - lunch at Burger King - (explored San Diego ?) - back at BOQ at 1700L - snacks for dinner]

Househunting Trip - Day 7

[spent all morning on phone - eventually reached FBS and set up an appointment to look at some of their houses - lunch at MWR bowling alley - left BOQ at 1400L and met agent in Spring Valley (gas there at 1500L) - after several stops, we ended up in Kensington (may have found our house there!) - celebrated with dinner at Olive Garden (2000L) - arrived at BOQ at 2130L]
