[checked out of the Mid Atlantic Lodge (Air Force Inns) and departed Lajes Air Base in the morning - flying with Jack, Gary and Glenn - itinerary uncertain (we must have stopped for fuel but was it Brunswick or St. John's, Newfoundland ?) - regardless, we were back in Virginia Beach by early afternoon (local time)]

Vila Praia da Vitoria, Azores (Portugal)

[after checking out of the Sigonella Bachelor Housing in the morning, I met up with my crew (Jack, Gary and Glenn) and we left Sicily - we made a stop in Rota (for fuel) - we then departed the European mainland, enroute to the Azores - we landed at Lajes Air Base and checked into the Mid Atlantic Lodge (Air Force Inns) again - we were changed and ready to go out in town early enough that we were able to eat dinner at O Pescador (Vila Praia da Vitoria)]

Sigonella, Sicily (Italy)

[checked out of the Mid Atlantic Lodge (Air Force Inns) - flew (with Jack, Gary and Glenn) from Lajes to Rota (fuel stop) - then flew to Sicily - checked into Bachelor Housing at NAS Sigonella - (dinner in town ?)]

Terceira, Azores (Portugal)

[flew (with Jack, Gary and Glenn) from Norfolk to the Azores - itinerary uncertain (non-stop or Newfoundland ?) - arrived at Lajes Air Base very late and checked into the Mid Atlantic Lodge (Air Force Inns)]
