Grapevine, TX (USA)
We started a tradition a few years ago - in 2006 - when we first visited the Great Wolf Lodge during the Holidays. In 2007 we spent the night on the 30th of December and saw that lots of fun events were scheduled for New Year's Eve. We decided to check the place out this year! One of the nice things about staying the night at the Lodge is that you can start to swim in the indoor water park at 1300L and stay until the following night at 2100L. The kids were understandably excited. Something new: wristbands with key codes for the room and to buy things - very convenient! We spent around four hours non-stop on the water slides, in the wave pool and even on the "lazy river." The kids got a little tired around 1700 and we had some dinner before they decided to participate in the "Snow-Ball" - complete with karaoke, face painting, photos, game-shows, story time and (at midnight) a balloon drop. Mollie and I checked out the Wiley Wolf story hour and watched all of his animal friends sing in the Great Hall. By 2300 she was pretty tired and we went back to the room to watch the New York countdown to the New Year. The twins and Nicky stayed up until after midnight and had a good time at the Dance Party in the Great Hall. Whew!!!
