[left Darien Center State Park (NY) and made our way to I-90 - then continued east across New York - entered Massachusetts after a busy summer - (I-90 to I-495 to US-6 ?) - home in the evening]

[left Rochester, MI and drove (via Detroit/Windsor Border Crossing ?) through Ontario to Buffalo, NY - stopped at Niagara Falls (which side?) - drove on US-20 to Darien Center State Park (NY), where we spent the night]

[spent the day in Rochester, MI with Grandma and Grandpa D - (visiting with Leslie, John and Lynne ?)]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 42

[drove from Cascade Mountain, WI (via I-90, through Chicago, and I-94 ?) to Rochester, MI - spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa D]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 41

[(probably visited the Corn Palace) - drove from Mitchell, SD (via I-90) towards the east - (backroads to  De Smet - visited some Laura Ingalls Wilder sites at the "Little Town on the Prairie") - more I-90 - drove all the way to Cascade Mountain, WI, where we spent the night]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 40

[(started day in Rapid City, SD) - Bear Country USA - Dinosaur Park of Rapid City - continued east on I-90 - stopped at Wall Drug - more I-90 - spent the night in Mitchell, SD - (Mom's notes say "RAIN")]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 39

[drove east from Greybull, WY (US-14, I-90) to Black Hills of South Dakota - (probably stayed overnight in Rapid City, SD; Mom's notes say "spent the night at ...")]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 38

[drove south towards Yellowstone National Park - (Mom's notes say "spent the day there - saw Old Faithful, moose, elk, earthquake deforestation area, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone") - drove out of park to the east (via US-14) - spent the night in Greybull, WY]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 37

[(left Wallace, ID in the morning) - drove east across Montana (I-90) - (did we detour to Helena, MT ?) - (back on I-90) - visited Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park and then stopped for the night at a nearby KOA (Three Forks, MT at junction of US-287 ?)]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 36

[drove north and east along the Columbia River Gorge - made our way to Spokane - drove into Idaho and stopped to visit Couer d'Alene - (I believe we then drove into Montana and stopped at the town of Wallace, ID; Mom's notes say "overnight east of Couer d'Alene")]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 35

[stayed late at Mom's/Dad's friend's (Barbara W.) house - left (1530) to drive to Gladstone, OR (Portland area) - spent the night at Kent S.'s house]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 34

[we left Eugene in the morning and drove west to the Oregon Coast - visited Sea Lion Caves - spent time at Heceta Light Beach - passed Cape Perpetua - then drove east to Salem, where we spent the night with another of Mom's/Dad's friends (Barbara W.)]

Summer Family Vacation - Day 33

[ate breakfast with one of Dad's/Mom's friends (Dick R.) - walked around on the University of Oregon campus - we went to a Marionette show - we ate dinner at Pietro's - spent night in Eugene]
