Natchez, MS (USA)

[had a nice day of exploring with Nicky today - left Meridian early - gas in Newton, Mississippi (0830L) - stopped at Vicksburg for information - crossed river on old bridge - visited Poverty Point National Monument (a Native American mound site) in Louisiana (off LA-17) - ate lunch at Hardees - drove along the Mississippi on the west side of the river (US-65) - gas in Ferriday (junction of US-84) - crossed river to visit Natchez - had time to take a carriage ride (Pilgrimage Tour) and learned about the historic homes - dinner at Fat Mama's Tamales - on the way back to I-20, drove on the Natchez Trace - it was getting dark, but we walked a little on the old road - (did we take the Trace all the way to the interstate or change to US-61 ?) - arrived in Meridian very late]
