Virginia Beach, VA (USA)

After landing as late as I possibly could (crew rest) last night, I had an early flight again.  Regardless, I was still excited to be going up in the air! Picked up a wrap from Wawa (boy, I miss that place...) and met up with my co-pilot (Blair).  We departed NAS JRB Willow Grove on time and flew down to Virginia Beach so we could move some folks to Key West.  Due to lower traffic volumes and waiting customers for the ground crews, we had no problems getting a quick turn.  Sometimes it isn't so bad to fly on the weekend...  That being said, we beat the other five aircraft involved with the same mission and I was relieved that we'd been first in line! Made it to Boca Chica on schedule and fueled up just as the rest of the gaggle got there. Overall the weather was much better today than it had when we visited the previous two days.  I found myself wishing wishing we could stay in Key West again... The flight back to Philly was easy and we arrived at Willow Grove almost two hours early! This gave me enough time for a haircut nearby (needed it badly). Dinner was at Lee's Hoagie House - I had a buffalo chicken cheese-"steak." It was very good and I'm glad I only got the small because I also got a big salad. Called my friend George - he had some good news. Also called Bob and Pat to confirm plans for next week. Spent most of the evening packing (where did all the extra crap come from?) in my room at the Navy Lodge.  Was going to bed early when the movie "Dune" came on - why is something good always on at midnight?  Watched a little bit but went to bed early because I need to leave town early in the day.  More winter weather expected tomorrow...
