Virginia Beach, VA (USA)
[CFLSW Inspection Trip] Today was a big day, since I began it with 4997 hours of flight time and ended it with over 5000! It took a long time to make it to that milestone, but I'm glad I did... After checking out of the NAS Oceana CBH, I ate breakfast at the Golf Club. It then took a few hours for Pete and John to finish their review of our inspection results. The crew flying us home got impatient when our departure was delayed but we eventually got going before noon. Weather was OK and I was in the cockpit again after a long layoff. Our flight from Hampton Roads to Texas went very well. I'll miss the flying after my Navy career is over (if it comes to that). In Fort Worth (1400L), we found balmy weather - I didn't miss this... After thanking the crew of letting me fly the leg, I took care of a few items at the office before departing NAS JRB Fort Worth (Carswell). Glad to be home!
