Winter Break Trip - Day 7

We woke up early, packed up our stuff, said goodbye to John and Katie and left for home (0645).  There was ice all over the windows and the roads were terrible.  We used MA-3, I-93 and I-95 to get to New Jersey.  We had thought about stopping at some National Parks but the weather was very nasty.  Mollie said she wanted to get home to see her dog so we decided to proceed (non-stop), rather than stay overnight somewhere and return to Alexandria on Sunday.  We ate breakfast (snacks) in the car.  We switched to I-80 and used I-287 to get to I-78 and stopped for lunch (Burger King) in Bloomsbury, NJ, at 1145.  After we were done, we continued on I-78 and then took I-81, I-83, PA-581, US-15 and I-270 to get back to I-495.  We were very lucky with traffic and weather and arrived back in Alexandria by 1615.  We went to my apartment first, unpacked the car and Mollie wrapped presents for her mother and sisters.  I dropped Mollie off at Nicky’s (along with Christmas presents for all three kids) at 1710.
