[work - walked from L'Enfant to area near White House - arrived for happy hour at Old Ebbitt Grill and it was PACKED - back bar was closed and didn't have a reservation - was only able to sit at a side-board - Jill arrived at around 1800 and we got some oysters and had some drinks - she had planned ahead and had a reservation for 2100 - after we'd been there a few hours (2000), we got a table (due to her persistence and niceness with the host) - we had a nice dinner (shrimp linguine, salad, good bread, key lime pie) - walked together to Metro Center Station - after saying good-bye, I walked to Gallery Place (2210) - got home (no parking at my apartment again) at 2345]
