Quechee, VT (USA)

After work today (1600), I walked the Greensboro Ridge Natural Area trails in probably my last check of the system before my departure - I encountered a SOBO Thru hiker!  After that, I returned to my condo, cleaned up and then did some move-related errands in Lebanon.  Next, I drove (via US-4) to Quechee Pizza Chef so I could join the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner that was being hosted by the organizers of the Quechee Balloon Festival.  From 1745 to 1915, I hung out with everyone, enjoying food, and even won a door prize (hoodie from the most recent event).  We even got some beer (Fiddlehead Hodad)!  When everyone else started leaving, I reluctantly got back on the road and drove towards home.  Along the way, I stopped for some groceries in West Lebanon and arrived at my condo by 2045.  This wasn't exactly the last volunteer events I had left in the Upper Valley but much of the post-work activities sure felt "final".  I'll miss all my interactions with the different groups I've been supporting - hope I'm lucky enough to find some new alternatives!
