Nomad Life - Day 133

Today was one of those slower Nomad Life days that gives me a chance to recharge.  I did have to work but only planned for a half day so I could get my car serviced at the Subaru Dealership ("Young") in Ogden.  To start, though, I woke up with my alarm at 0530 and had a series of meetings during my telework day.  Meanwhile, it was pretty rainy outside.  I took a break at 0730 and walked over to the Lobby of the Air Force Inns (Hill Air Force Base) to get breakfast - they had a good selection.  After returning to my room, I continued teleworking until 1015.  By then, the weather had improved tremendously (temps close to 40 F) and I could see some beautiful mountains (Wasatch Range) in the distance.  Everything was so pretty!  Departing Hill Air Force Base soon after that, I drove to Ogden (Riverdale Drive) and arrived early for my 11 AM 90K Maintenance Appointment (1045).  It's hard to believe that I've driven 12,000 miles since I departed New Hampshire!  My service technician (Dale) was very friendly and helpful and made sure that everything with my Outback was running smoothly.  I read books, watched movies and talked to some sales associates about EV and Hybrid Subarus.  Sadly, I also learned that the Outback has been completely redesigned - it no longer looks like my own car (not a fan of the new models).  When my car was ready again (1300), Dale told me that everything was in good shape (no extra stuff required) and that the tire pressure concern I had was likely due to winter weather and Salt Lake City's (among other places) elevation (4300 feet).  In the end, I got a military discount and this made the price reasonable.  I do have to return tomorrow to get some new software loaded - that's not a problem, though. Afterwards, I talked with Mollie on the phone for 45 minutes (while I was waiting in a parking lot).  When we finished, I noticed that the weather was still wonderful (mid 40s) and I was really itching to do something outside.  Because I still had some work to do for my job, however, I drove back to Hill Air Force Base (following roads around the east side) and entered through the South Gate.  In my room again (1430). I resumed teleworking (only had to work 30 more minutes).  Since I've got a bunch of use/lose PTO, it didn't hurt to log four hours of it for this relatively slow day.  For the rest of the afternoon, I reorganized my belongings (i.e., repacked bags).  At 1630, I made dinner in my room and, at 1700, started a call with Brenna.  We talked for 2 hours and 30 minutes!  It was a very nice conversation, though, and I am glad we had time to catch up with each other.  Afterwards, I did a little walking near the CBQ building.  My motivation level was dropping, though, and I only got 5000 steps for the day.  That's OK, I've had a good run for several weeks!  For the rest of the evening, I watched movies - finally went to bed at 2235.  Very glad that "Nessie" is ready to drive another 6000 miles in support of my Nomad Life!
