Househunting Trip - Day 5
Checked out of the Springhill Suites this morning (1140) and decided to switch hotels. Hit the pavement pretty early - lots more calls for appointments. I bought a map book of Fort Worth that seems to correspond with all of the real estate listings (it has a grid and you can find addresses off the MLS with the grid). We really tried hard to see things in the TCU area again. One realtor really got us going with about six homes in the space of a few hours. Each one was old (1920s) and wasn't really up to date. We started hearing about some of the hit/miss schools around here, too. Drove out towards Aledo and saw some homes zoned for horses - drive seems iffy, though. Checked out Lost Creek area and then went back over to Blue Mound and Saginaw. The area north of I-820 is growing on me... Nicky really getting unhappy about the selection. If we were buying, we could get a great house. I don't want to take the gamble on the housing market now, though. Spent nearly all day looking at houses and driving around I-820 (back and forth). We did find a promising neighborhood up near Heritage Trace Parkway - couldn't get a showing, today, though. At our new hotel NAS JRB Fort Worth CBQ (in their fancy "Texas Room"!) tonight - met some folks who are also doing some househunting. They are convinced that Weatherford is the place to live. It seems awfully far away, but maybe we'll be joining them soon... More internet searching tonight - I'd like to wrap this up really soon.
