Marietta, GA (USA)
[CFLSW Inspection Trip] Went in early to work today - bags packed - for a 0900 departure and learned that we weren't going anywhere until 1400. Had time to get some important work done, though. Even had a chance to eat lunch at a Thai place in White Settlement with a bunch of guys who normally aren't in town when I am. Later caught a ride with some old work friends on the flight over to Atlanta - we're working there this week. Outstanding scenery all the way - including Tennessee River and central Alabama. Saw North Georgia Mountains and Lost Mountain on the way in. Arrived at NAS Atlanta (Marietta) at around 1700 and got our rental car. My suitcase has had it - too much traveling, I think! Thought our hotel would be near the Galleria Mall but, instead, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Suites Atlanta Northwest at Windy Hill (very nice). Brandon did all the driving... After a short time getting settled, an old friend (Frank) came by to pick us up for dinner. Didn't go far away - just down the road to Papadeaux's. It had Cajun / Naw'lins style food. Had a great plate of blackened Mahi smothered with Sherry sauce and seafood (lobster, scallops, shrimp). Brandon got the double-fudge chocolate cake after dinner (I tried a little...). Back to the hotel around 2200 - Monday Night Football on. Went to bed around 2300 - seemed early...
