With several recent days of freeze-thaw-freeze, I wasn’t sure the drive to Grantham would be worth the effort this morning. Fortunately, the groomers had come through John’s Glen before me and made tracks! Temps were in the low 20s when I arrived (0800) and that kept people in their warm houses (great for me). I got almost two full hours on the trails all by myself - it felt great. As my skis warmed up, they must have melted the surface of the track a little so, by the end, I was practically speeding along. It wasn’t until the last 20 minutes that the parking lot (empty when I arrived) filled to capacity and other skiers entered the circuit. Luckily, I was on my way home before it got too “peopley”… Perfect day of cross country skiing at Eastman!
