Summer Vacation - Day 4

[up around 0700 (birds, road construction) - read news about "New Horizons" (Pluto mission) - Dad made pancakes - girls finally ready around 1000 - we drove the kayaks down to Shawme Lake - we took turns riding, with Carolyn and Mollie going first while Brenna and I walked back to Dad's house to get flip flops - when it was Brenna and my turn, we paddled across to see swans (female swan with babies, male swan with red winged blackbirds) - we also saw Canadian Geese (babies) - it started raining then - Mollie took another turn and we paddled down to the mill before parking the kayaks - Dad took us to Shawme-Crowell State Park - still very rainy - we stopped at the Canal for a visit to the fish market - later, we went back to Dad's for lunch (leftover pizza) - Dad took me to Mashee Commons (to drop off books) - then we went to Otis (shopping at 1400) - back to house (Carolyn had been dog walking with Mollie and Brenna was napping - Dad took Mollie to Marine life rescue center in Buzzards Bay - I stayed with Brenna and took a short nap - around 1700, Dad and Beth went to get Chinese food - Gerard came over - nice meal - worked on puzzles - Carolyn told stories about her cat, Rocky - afterwards, we got ice cream at Shipwrecks near the Canal - then we walked out on the jetty (Brenna's request) - got back to the cars just before dark - watched "Big Hero 6" - bed around 2300]
