[drove into DC at 0730 to pick up my new ID card - this was the first time I'd actually been near my office in months - got into my appointment early but then had to wait for the ID to start working - took a walk around L'Enfant (close to St. Vincent's) and explored the area near the new Eisenhower Memorial - on the road for home by 0845 - surreal to have an encounter with my old working life - hopefully, things will get back to normal again soon]
