Nomad Life - Day 42

Somehow, I got more sleep last night than usual at the Navy Lodge and wasn't ready to start my telework day until almost 0700.  This wasn't due to sluggishness - rather, I felt very relaxed in bed and didn't want to get up when I first awoke.  As a result of the delay, I curtailed the time I usually allot for breakfast down to about 10 minutes (0730 to 0740).  Returning to my computer, I spent the next several hours at work and only stopped long enough to make some lunch (cooked in my room) just after noon.  Meanwhile, it was drizzly outside again... After another full day of work, I knocked off at 1600 and decided to leave JEB Little Creek - Fort Story in search of a happy hour.  My initial plan was to revisit the COVA Brewing Company in Norfolk.  However, my drive on US-60 (Shore Drive) was much shorter than the amount of time that it took to find a parking place near the brewery.  I tried all kinds of options but, in the end, decided that the risk of getting towed was much higher than I'd hoped.  Feeling a bit sad, I texted Erin about the situation - fortunately, she immediately had a suggestion: "you should visit the Commonwealth Brewing Company because I've heard good things."  Taking her advice, I drove back to the east on Shore Drive until I'd almost reached US-13.  Heading north towards the ocean, I located the brewery and found they had ample parking.  Between 1645 and 1730, I sampled four (tasters) of their beer creations (all good) and enjoyed the ambiance of their newer tap room.  As I was finishing my last selection, Brenna called to ask if I was already in Virginia Beach.  When I told her I'd been there all week, she explained that she had only just arrived herself and was hoping to see me.  With that request, I wrapped up my tab and headed towards Erin's house.  I arrived shortly after Brenna did (1745) and was able to visit with my Twin daughters for about 30 minutes before Austin arrived.  There was talk of going out to dinner but, since Erin had some pre-wedding-reception tasks she wanted to accomplish, my daughters left Austin and I alone at the house for almost an hour.  My new son-in-law and I enjoyed a drink together (first real celebration I've been able to have with him since the marriage last week).  Erin and Brenna returned by 1900 and brought pizzas (from Aldi) with them!  Austin got them going in the oven while I went for a walk with my daughters and Kiki.  The weather was very nice by this point and it felt great to get a bit of exercise (nowhere near my 10K steps, though).  Back at Erin's house, we enjoyed some pieces of pizza and watched some episodes of "Friends" that connected to marriage ceremonies.  By 2100, I felt quite tired and reluctantly said goodnight to everyone.  After heading back to my room at the Navy Lodge, I struggled to stay awake long enough to finish a bit of reading and Duolingo.  For the first time in several weeks, I went to bed close to 2200 and fell asleep immediately.  Tomorrow is Erin and Austin's big day!
