Southeast Asia Trip - Day 1

Despite the efforts of the Eva Airways staff, our aircraft departed late (0045) from LAX.  To pass the time, I watched movies and played games on the In-Flight Entertainment System.  Later, i realized that I had free internet - and not just the text/email kind!  Took full advantage of this fact and spent time updating social media.  We soon received a meal (beef with noodles and cabbage, melon, some kind of potato salad with raw fish, bread roll, custard or flan) but I got very dehydrated as the flight progressed (limited water available).  Later, I asked one of the flight attendants for a drink and she gave me some Sprite. I managed to get a few hours of sleep midway through the trip but it was hard to stay asleep with all the people around me coughing and sneezing...  Our route took us very close to Midway Island.  Still airborne at start of a new day (crossing the International Date Line.
